Ruth Dessiré Logan began studying piano in her native Mexico at the age of 8. Upon graduation from the National Conservatory of Music, she competed in the Carmen Valles competition and won a scholarship to attend the Cleveland Institute of Music under the tutelage of Paul Shenly and Maxine Stevens. Upon returning to Mexico, she was appointed head of the piano department at the Conservatory of Music in Toluca. During this period, in addition to carrying a full teaching schedule, she was also an active recitalist and chamber musician. Ms. Logan now makes her home in Painesville, Ohio along with her husband Matt. She is a pianist and keyboardist at the St. Paul Presbyterian church in Mentor.
