Pianist Marina Kerze was born in Perm, Russia into a musical family. Since her early childhood she was actively participating in the concert life of her home town. She won several concerto competitions and has regularly performed with symphony orchestras since she was 12. Marina also won several regional and national piano competitions such as the Eigumnov All Russian Competition (Lipetzk, Russia), the Tchaikovsky All Russian Festival (Perm, Russia), and took part in many master classes. Marina graduated from Perm Music College in 2002 and continued her studies at the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory. In 2005 she moved to the United States to study with Margarita Shevchenko at Cleveland State University. While studying at CSU Marina had participated in a great number of concerts as a soloist, as a performer of chamber music and as an accompanist. During her first year at CSU Marina won a concerto competition and her performance of Saint-Saens Concerto No.2 was a great success. Marina received her Master's Degree in Piano Performance in 2007 and currently studies at Oberlin Conservatory of Music where she is pursuing an Artist Diploma in Piano Performance.
Marina started teaching at the age of 16 in Perm, Russia. She holds a teaching license from Perm Music College and also received teaching training while studying at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory. She joined Aurora School of Music faculty in 2006.
