He has been writing and recording his own music fiercely for the past 6 years most of which has been arranged for three piece rhythm section.  He studied under Bob Fraser at the University of Akron  where he is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Jazz Studies .  Some of his other instructors and mentors include Jack Shantz, Dean Newton, and Joe Augustine.  He currently lives in Akron and in addition to teaching, Dave plays guitar and sings for the lively funk authority of northeast Ohio "Get On Up".  He continues to write and record his own original material in collaboration with many different professional musicians from the area.
