Charles Trenta earned a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Studies/Guitar Performance at the University of Akron. Charles began playing the guitar in 1996 at the age of thirteen. He began studying with Dean Newton at the age of seventeen. Charles is currently studying guitar with Dean Newton and Bob Fraser as well as Jack Schantz and other members of the Jazz Faculty at the University of Akron. He performs around the Akron/Canton/Cleveland area with the rock band Crimson Rain as well as various jazz trios and university ensembles. Charles has also worked with area artists including Neil Zaza, Zach, and ska-punk band The Setups.
