A native of Columbus, Ohio, Benjamin Wagner received musical training from his parents at an early age, but did not officially begin piano study until he was 11 years old. During his high school years, he enjoyed a lengthy tenure with concert artist Arvi Sinka of Troy Michigan, and finished by spending a highly successful summer at the Interlochen Arts Camp studying Stephen Perry. He also won first place with pianist Rebecca Harding in the 1999 BJU High School Festival Duo Piano Competition.
In 2004, Benjamin received his Bachelor of Music degree from Bob Jones University in Greenville South Carolina where he was very active musically, receiving first place in the Gardner-Webb University Concerto Competition, and honorable mention in the South Carolina MTNA Steinway Collegiate Artists Piano Competition to name a few. In addition, Benjamin performed in numerous master classes with such distinguished artists such as Sergei Babayan of the Cleveland Institute of Music and Edward Gates of The University of Oklahoma. Most recently, Benjamin has completed his Master of Music degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music, and attended the Brevard Summer Music Festival where he studied with Artist in Residence, Julian Martin of the Julliard School.
Currently, Benjamin is very active as a freelance pianist and teacher in Cleveland Ohio and its surrounding communities.
